Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by slicing one large onion and laying the pieces at the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Place a 3-4 pound beef roast directly on top of the sliced onions.
- In a separate bowl, mix two cups of beef broth with 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Pour over the beef.
- Sprinkle 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and black pepper over the roast. Add salt to taste.
- Cover your slow cooker and set it to cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
- Once cooking is completed, carefully remove the beef roast from the slow cooker and shred it.
- Strain out the onions from the slow cooker, leaving the broth behind. Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with cold water to form a slurry and stir into the broth.
- Serve by placing slices of bread on plates, topping with mashed potatoes, shredded beef, and gravy.
