Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 1 pound flank steak or skirt steak as a substitute
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice bottled lime juice works too
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder adjust to desired heat level
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder essential
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or any neutral oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
For the Salsa
  • 1 medium jalapeño or Serrano pepper for more spice
  • 1 large avocado serve fresh
  • 1/4 cup cilantro omit if not a fan
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste

Method
 

Marinating and Grilling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lime juice, chili powder, garlic powder, olive oil, and salt to create the marinade. Place flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish, pour marinade over it, seal, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  2. Prepare the salsa by dicing avocado and chopping jalapeño in a separate bowl. Add chopped cilantro, season with lime juice and salt, mix gently, and set aside.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Take marinated steak out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  4. Grill steak for 6–8 minutes on each side for medium-rare, flipping only once, until internal temperature reaches 135°F.
  5. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and rest for 5 minutes, covered with foil.
  6. Slice steak against the grain into thin strips and serve topped with avocado salsa.
