  • 1 lb White Fish Fillets (cod or mahi-mahi) Shrimp can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Vegetable oil may also be used.
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper Optional, adjust to taste.
For the Zesty Lime Crema
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt can be substituted.
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Limes Use for both juice and zest.
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped.
For the Crunchy Slaw
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
For the Tacos
  • 8 Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • to taste Optional Toppings (avocado, hot sauce, pickled onions)

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Fish: Pat the white fish fillets dry. Mix chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to create a spice rub. Coat both sides of each fillet.
  2. Cook the Fish: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook the seasoned fish for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Make the Zesty Lime Crema: Whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, lime zest, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro in a bowl.
  4. Prepare the Slaw: Combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and red onion in a bowl. Whisk lime juice, olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper together. Drizzle over the slaw and mix.
  5. Warm the Tortillas: Warm the corn or flour tortillas in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  6. Assemble the Tacos: Take a warm tortilla, layer it with slaw, add fish, and drizzle lime crema on top.
