Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and salt using an electric mixer for 5-7 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg, grated orange zest, orange juice, and lemon extract; mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour until just combined.
  4. Divide the dough into two portions, shape into disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out one disk to ¼-inch thickness and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
  6. Place the cookies on a greased baking sheet with spacing and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the glaze, combine confectioners’ sugar, milk, and orange food coloring until smooth and creamy.
  9. Once cookies are cool, drizzle or spread the glaze over them and let sit until set.
