  • 1 tsp Espresso Powder Optional
For the Liquid

  • 1 pod Vanilla Bean Optional

Equipment

  • French press
  • Food processor
  • Microwave
  • measuring cup
  • Mason jar

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by grinding the good quality dark chocolate in a food processor until it’s finely ground. This typically takes about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Once your chocolate is finely processed, transfer it into a mason jar for easy storage. If using, slice open the vanilla bean pod and layer it within the chocolate mixture.
  3. Take your French press and add about 4 tablespoons of the prepared chocolate mix along with the optional espresso powder.
  4. In a quart-sized Pyrex measuring cup, pour your desired amount of milk and microwave it for about 2-3 minutes until it’s scalding hot but not boiling.
  5. Carefully pour the scalding milk over the chocolate mix in the French press. Allow to steep for about 2 minutes before plunging vigorously for 1 minute.
  6. Pour the frothed chocolate into your favorite cups and enjoy immediately.
