For the Bacon
  • 6 slices Bacon or substitute with crispy prosciutto
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oil vegetable or olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce or substitute with oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Water

Equipment

  • large pot
  • Frying Pan
  • colander

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil and introduce the broccoli florets. Cook for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender but crisp. Drain thoroughly.
  2. In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add bacon pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes until crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Return the pan with bacon drippings to medium heat, adding more oil if needed. Sauté the finely chopped garlic for 1-2 minutes until golden. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water in a bowl, then pour into the pan and stir to thicken.
  4. Introduce the drained broccoli and bacon back into the pan, tossing everything together gently over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
