Preparation Steps
- Pound chicken breasts to an even ½-inch thickness and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs and Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg mixture, and coat with crushed pretzel mixture.
- Choose to bake at 400°F (200°C) or pan-fry in a skillet with oil.
- If baking, brush chicken with olive oil or melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- If frying, cook chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side.
- To make the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, gradually add milk, and stir in Dijon mustard and cheddar cheese until smooth.
- Serve chicken with cheddar mustard sauce and garnish with parsley.
